Chickenshed Players
During the course of the year Players workshop, rehearse and perform two mainstage musical productions: one scripted and the other created and devised using our inclusive process that reflects the opinions and aspirations of these young people and the communities they are a part of.
Together with theatre practitioners and youth intern mentors we ensure that the program reflects and develops each member who is part of it so that they may have a genuine ownership of the work they are part of throughout the company.
Each production includes an element of science, exploring how theatre can be a megaphone for science and how science can inform the art we create. We achieve this with the help of guest scientists and artists who workshop with us during the pre-production process.
Our no-audition policy ensures that every participant can be part of the show without the pressure of an audition process.
