Health & Safety Protocols for COVID-19
Chickenshed NYC believes that health and safety is of the utmost importance for our young people, their families, and our staff. Regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, we are following the letter and spirit of local, state, and federal regulations, as well as guidance from public health authorities as well as observing the rules of our host partner, the 14th Street YMHA (“14Y”) who fall under the Fitness Establishment Clause of New York City’s “Key to NYC” regulations.
In addition, we have adopted the following protocols:
Proof of Vaccination: All persons 5 years and older (including students, family members, staff, and guests) must provide proof of vaccination for entry into the 14Y and all Chickenshed NYC programs. Acceptable forms of proof are the New York Excelsior Pass, the NYC Safe App, or a copy of the individual’s CDC vaccination card.
COVID Questionnaire: To gain entry to the 14Y, everyone must complete a COVID-19 Questionnaire. The questionnaire can be found online here, or by using the QR code on the left. We encourage everyone to complete the questionnaire online ahead of time and bring a copy of the confirming email. The form is also available for completion at the front desk of the 14Y. Entrants may also be temperature-checked.
Masks: While in the programs and on the 14Y premises, everyone over the age of 2 is required to wear a mask.
Testing: Chickenshed NYC staff members will take COVID-19 rapid antigen tests prior to each weekly session, and anyone testing positive will be required to stay away from work for whatever period recommended by public health officials. Chickenshed NYC participants are also encouraged to test before each weekly session; many will already be doing so according to their school protocols. Potential COVID exposures to other Chickenshed NYC participants will be discussed with the General Manager and communicated according to the best practices established by the 14th Street Y and public health officials.
Social Distancing: To the extent possible, Chickenshed NYC will observe best practices for social distancing in its programming.
Other: The Chickenshed NYC staff are continually monitoring public health rules and best practices. We may announce further directives as we deem advisable.
Contact: The General Manager is responsible for compliance with all health and safety protocols. Please address any questions to them at Admin@chickenshednyc.org.
