FALL NEWSLETTER 2019

ONE YEAR ON...Welcome to our very first Chickenshed NYC Newsletter. One year since our first Tales From the Shed performance we are proud to be making a positive impact in our new home. Your support means the world to us - from buying a ticket to a performance, enrolling your child in Children’s Theatre or financially supporting us, you are helping our program thrive and meet the needs of our community. We believe everybody deserves the chance to sing, dance and be silly on their own terms no matter their background, ability or experience. We hope to see you at another first on November 16th when we warmly invite you to the 'Sharing of our Work'. Thank you for being part of our founding community here in NYC.Elaine Finkletaub, President Donate to Chickenshed NYC

OUR NYC PROGRAMS ARE FUN, FUN, FUN!

Childrens Theatre
(6-13 Years)

Children’s Theatre is a semester-long program where a cohort of children get to know each other by exploring themes that interest them through storytelling, dance and music. Our specially trained teaching artists guide their creativity and foster resilience, patience, strength and acceptance. This is a hugely successful waitlisted program in the UK.

Children's Theatre Spring Semester Starts in January 2020We will be workshopping and rehearsing for our end of spring performance, an original musical production of "The Tigon and the Liger". Our show is based on the delightful children's book by Keilly Swift. To reserve a spot now, please email ali@chickenshednyc.com

Planet Play

This term we have introduced Planet Play our magical world of sensory learning, wonder and exploration developed for babies and toddlers. These 45 minute sessions encourage young children to explore the world around them through songs, music and movement in a wonderful sensory experience.Buy your tickets HERETales from the Shed
(0-6 Years)
Tales is our much-loved interactive show featuring dance, music, puppets and more. We invite children and parents alike to sing, dance and play. Children have embraced our unique characters like Lion Down and The Thing that Goes Blurgh that help teach concepts such as friendship and sharing.Buy your tickets HEREFor more information about our programs, please visit chickenshednyc.org

HELP US SHARE THE MAGIC

Chickenshed NYC is grateful to all who have helped launch our program of inclusive theatre for children of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Your tax-deductible donation of any amount will help us expand our reach to children and schools who may not otherwise experience the magic of inclusive theatre. For example:

  • $60 allows a family of four to attend a TALES FROM THE SHED or PLANET PLAY performance
  • $150 adds a new puppet to our cast
  • $450 provides a semester scholarship for our Childrens Theatre program
  • $500 allows us to bring a mornings worth of  TALES and PLANET PLAY to an underserved preschool
  • $1000 sponsors a Saturday morning’s worth of TALES and PLANET PLAY
  • $5000 underwrites production costs for THE TIGON AND THE LIGER, our 2020 Children’s Theatre production
