Chickenshed Players
Children build connections with new friends through a world of theatrical games and exercises. Our theatre practitioners and youth interns work together to guide and inspire participants to share their ideas and creativity in a safe and nurturing environment.
This is the first time these young Players will be part of Chickenshed NYC's mainstage productions and our no-audition policy ensures that every member can be part of a show without the pressure of an audition process.
We stage two productions a year: one scripted and one devised by the participants themselves.
Each production includes an element of science, exploring how theatre can be a megaphone for science and how science can inform the art we create. We achieve this with the help of guest scientists and artists who workshop with us during the pre-production process.
