Summer Shed

Step into the magic of Summer Shed at Chickenshed NYC. Explore theatre, discover new skills and make new friends in an energetic, inclusive and supportive environment.

Participants will be grouped by age, ensuring activities are appropriate to their stage of development and giving everyone the opportunity to build friendships and create alongside their peers.

Through singing, dance, acting, storytelling, and basic American Sign Language (ASL), participants explore different ways to express themselves, share ideas and bring stories to life. Working alongside experienced theatre practitioners, they build confidence, develop performance skills and discover the excitement of creating original work as part of an ensemble.

Whether they are new to theatre or already love being on stage, Summer Shed offers young people the freedom to experiment, collaborate, make friends and discover what they can do. Every voice matters, every idea has value, and everyone has something to contribute.

With one-week and two-week options, Summer Shed offers an exciting opportunity to experience Chickenshed NYC’s distinctive approach to inclusive theatre-making. Each experience celebrates creativity, collaboration and the joy of making something together.
