The complete picture of a year at Chickenshed NYC
Chickenshed NYC had a strong and mission-centered year in 2025, advancing inclusive theatre-making for young people across New York City and expanding opportunities for creative self-expression.
Key achievements included:
• Continued delivery of our core programs, including early childhood offerings and progressive Players workshopsfor ages 5–18+.
• Creation and presentation of two major productions: Both Sides Nwo (spring devised work) and A Midsummer Night's Dream A Musical (fall).
• Deepened integration of STEM-inspired inquiry and creative experimentation, including an A.I.-informed project supporting devised theatre.
• Expanded community partnerships and teaching-artist work through programs in schools and cultural institutions, including Graham, Gramercy Arts HighSchool, the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, and the International Preschool.
